Perfect imperfections

My wooden Yunomi cups draw deeply from the spirit of Japanese pottery and wabi-sabi — a quiet celebration of imperfection, texture, and time. Each vessel begins with splitting a section of wood, revealing the raw and beautiful grain.

The exterior retains this natural surface, rich with tactile texture and the story of the tree itself, while the interior is finely turned using traditional Hook tools, offering a soft, refined contrast in both touch and tone.

Some pieces are finished with multiple layers of Fuki-Urushi, a traditional Japanese lacquer technique that enhances depth, durability, and warmth while allowing the character of the wood to remain visible.

Every Yunomi is a one of a kind piece, meant to be held, used, and appreciated as part of daily ritual.
